Why Chariot

Chariot exists to accelerate global giving. We reduce friction for donors and empower nonprofits, so more money and better data reach the front lines—faster, with less operational burden. That’s our north star, and it informs how we work every day.

How we work

We’re an in‑person team in New York City that believes the best products come from tight feedback loops and high‑trust collaboration. We ship fast, learn fast, and keep standards high. You’ll find thoughtful, kind teammates who challenge each other, take ownership, and celebrate small wins along the way.

Our operating system

Our culture blends a few simple but powerful ideas.

Shipping is purpose: everything else is downstream of delivering real value to nonprofits. We talk to users, launch early, and iterate with care.

Own by default. Collaborate always. We maintain a high bar, take responsibility, and don’t poke holes without filling them.

Ride the waves: we embrace the natural cycles of intensity and recovery required to do great work sustainably.

We’re not afraid of hard problems. Nonprofits often tackle the unsexy and unprofitable challenges that matter most. We align ourselves to that mission by choosing difficult problems in service of outsized impact—and solving them with rigor.

We also believe that your experience here should change you for the better. Growth happens when you’re a little uncomfortable—when you’re learning. We expect greatness from each other not because it’s easy, but because meaningful constraints help us do the best work of our careers. We lift each other up (or push each other up if we have to), because we’re only as strong as our weakest link.

Agency, not autopilot

At the core of our decision‑making is a deceptively hard question:

What should I be working on right now?

This isn’t just a Chariot thing—it’s a life thing. Knowing what to do now is a muscle. Don’t wait to be told: seek context, develop intuition, and act. If something should work a certain way, build it. If priorities feel off, question them. We use values, principles, and data‑driven heuristics as a shared contract to align our rudders, but they won’t replace judgment. Ambiguity is a feature, not a bug; learning to synthesize context is part of the job. That’s agency.

What this means for you

If you join us, you’ll ship impactful work, grow faster than you thought possible, and help nonprofits unlock more resources for the causes that matter. We won’t promise easy. We will promise meaningful.
